By Akaha Sule
It was all celebration and eulogies at NKST Church Gai, Jato Aka Classis as elders and congregation of the Church took time to appreciate their Shepherd, Rev. Gideon Mbanyiman for his achievements in the short period of his stay with them.
Rev. MbanyimanÂ
This is even as immediate past President of the NKST Church worldwide, Rev. Dr. D. Z. Anza JP eulogized the resident pastor over what he described as “outstanding achievements” out of the five that have administered the Church from inception.
Preaching at the event, Rev. Dr. Anza who read from Luke 19:11-28 titled his message: “Faithful Service is worthy of good reward” maintained that what the Church has done is in line with the Biblical teaching as demonstrated by Christ himself.
The former President went down memory lane, recounting the history of the Church that dates back to the seventies, acknowledging that the current pastor’s achievements are laudable and unique and urged him not to give up.
He thanked God for the development and appreciated the leadership, congregation as well as host community for the unity of purpose but equally warned the Sanballats and Tobias, who hate development to steer clear or encure the wrath of God.
Just then, worshippers of St Patricia’s Catholic Church, Manyam stormed the venue with their musical instruments, signifying the unity in the body of Christ in the area as they were immediately ushered into the Church as they entertained the congregation interchangeably with Sunday School.
Speaking during the reception, Guest Speaker, Engr. Hurordoo Nambativ was full of praises to God and Rev. Mbanyiman for the massive development, adding that appreciation is at the heart of God, which is what the Church did.
Engr. Nambativ enumerated several achievements of the pastor that are not even documented, saying the Cleric is unique among his peers, adding that he (celebrant) is exceptional especially when it concerns the work of God.
He towed the path of Rev. Anza in lamenting activities of some youth of the area, warning them against touching God’s anointed and challenged mothers in particular to use their motherly love to warn their children against the act.
Other Speakers including Chairman and Chairlady of the occasion, Ortwer Sesugh Denen, represented by Rev J.K.S. Ubee II and Mrs. Grace Kobo, Deputy Chairman, Kwande LG respectively thanked the pastor for his selfless services, urging him to maintain the tempo while praying God to bless him.
In a vote of thanks, Rev. Mbanyiman appreciated God and the elders/congregation for the show of love just as he thanked guests and the host community, including the Catholic Church for their cooperation which has accounted for the strides.
The event held last Sunday, 28th January, 2024 at the Church premises in Manyam along Ugbema-Jato Aka road attracted cream of dignitaries and clergymen with Catholic faithful entertaining guests after the Church service to the admiration of all present.
