Senate Minority Leader Abba Patrick Moro says that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is strategizing to normalize the anomalies in the electoral law and then bounce back to power.
“When subsequent elections come, by the time we tidy up electoral laws and rest of them, electoral results will not be the same again and the party will bounce back to power,” he assured.
Senator Moro, a prominent member of the PDP, who is currently representing Benue South Senatorial District at the National Assembly made the disclosure after a meeting with the PDP Senate Caucus at the National Assembly Wednesday.
Speaking on the issue of loosing election, he said: “I don’t see what is wrong in loosing election, because if you fail today and you are able to stand up you strategize to win tomorrow. So whatever we lost today as the PDP, we are working hard and part of working hard is the meeting the caucus has held today, to strategize, by ensuring that we don’t loose future elections, including the elections in Osun State.”
On the issue of the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who is a PDP member, but a minister in the APC government, he said: “Again, I don’t want to reduce the PDP to Wike and Damagun and the rest of them you are talking about. Wike is serving under the APC today, but I am telling you that the PDP is fantastic. The USA held election recently, you see the avalanche of the Republican Patty members, including a former vice president, who endorsed Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party.
“So, I don’t think that these things are unusual. I think, what may be unusual is if we don’t see what is in the offin and work hard toward ameliorating or mitigating consequences and I can assure you that anybody that is working against the PDP, has the rest of the PDP members to contend with, and we will work hard toward defeating any enemy of the PDP.
On the PDP’s selling brand at the moment, the senate minority leader maintained that the party is a brand, even as he said that he and other s Snator like Osita Izunaso, Agom Jarigbe, Benson Agadaga, among others are here. Treating what he described as a temporary set back the party has suffered in the recent elections, he reiterated that there party would surel bounce back.
While boasting that they have always bounced back, he assured that, when subsequent elections come, by the time they tidy up electoral laws and rest of them, electoral results will not be the same again.
On who to be blamed, for the set back the party has been suffering, Senator Abba Moro didn’t hesitate to say: “Let me tell you, this isn’t time for blame games. The most important thing is that something isn’t right, and we are trying to get it right and we shall get it right.
