The Federal Fire Service (FFS) conducted a scheduled fire safety simulation and evacuation exercise at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness in public facilities.

The drill, held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, was supervised by the Head, Enforcement Unit, Superintendent of Fire Murtala Muhammed, and his team.
The exercise assessed emergency response procedures and the readiness of occupants and safety personnel within the facility.
According to a press release signed by DCF P.O. Abraham, National PRO/Head, Corporate Services, Federal Fire Service, the facility was confirmed to be fire safety compliant and duly certified by the Federal Fire Service after the exercise.
The Service commended the management and occupants of Transcorp Hilton for their cooperation and commitment to safety standards. Periodic drills such as this are essential in strengthening preparedness, preventing incidents, and ensuring the protection of lives and property.
The Federal Fire Service clarified that any report suggesting a fire outbreak during the exercise is inaccurate and resulted from a misunderstanding of the routine safety drill.
The Service remains committed to promoting preventive safety measures and building resilience across public and private establishments nationwide.
The exercise is part of the Federal Fire Service’s ongoing efforts to ensure that public facilities are equipped to handle emergency situations and that occupants are prepared in case of a fire outbreak.
