The Ministry of Interior has bid farewell to officers who retired after years of distinguished and meritorious service to the Federal Government.

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, praised the retirees as pillars of institutional strength and professionalism.
Speaking at the send-forth ceremony held in Abuja, the Minister described the retirees’ years of sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to duty as having contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the Ministry.
“Your years of sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to duty have contributed immensely to the growth and stability of this Ministry. You leave behind not just years of service, but legacies of excellence,” he stated.
The Minister urged the retirees to remain ambassadors of integrity and professionalism, adding that their experience would remain valuable to the Ministry.
“Retirement from active service does not mean retirement from impact. We will continue to draw from your wealth of knowledge and experience whenever necessary,” he added.
On behalf of the nation’s leadership, the Minister expressed gratitude to the officers for mentoring younger staff and serving as custodians of institutional memory.
He prayed for their good health, peace, and fulfilment in retirement.
The ceremony featured goodwill messages from colleagues, retirees, and the presentation of commendation certificates and gifts to the retirees.
The Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Catherine N. Zosi, commended the retirees for their unblemished records and dedication to national service, saying, “Your legacies will continue to inspire officers within this Ministry.”
