The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has congratulated Dr Taiwo Oyedele on his appointment as Minister of State for Finance, praising his integrity, brilliance, and dedication to service delivery.
Tunji-Ojo described Oyedele as a fitting candidate for the position, citing his impactful work as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
The congratulatory message followed Oyedele’s nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and confirmation by the Senate.
In a separate development, the Ministry of Interior conducted a Fire Safety Training and Drill for staff, focusing on prevention, safety awareness, and emergency response.
The training featured theoretical and practical sessions with professional fire safety officers, emphasizing preparedness and proper response procedures.
Director of Joint Services Department, Hajiya Adaji Asmau, highlighted the importance of awareness and preparedness in mitigating fire-related incidents.
Staff were educated on fire prevention, protection, and fighting techniques, and given demonstrations on responding to fire emergencies and using firefighting equipment.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and promoting safety awareness and risk management.
The training is part of the Ministry’s initiative to enhance emergency response capacity across departments and agencies.
Tunji-Ojo also thanked President Tinubu for appointing Oyedele, wishing him success in his new role.
The Ministry encourages staff to apply the knowledge gained from the training in their workplaces, homes, and communities.
