The Association of Tiv Traditional Singers inaugurated a new executive committee for a two-year term on Monday, 1st June, 2026 at Lair Suites Hotel in Makurdi.
Legal Adviser of the Association, Barrister Emmanuel Agbakor, performed the ceremony following the re-election of the immediate past executive committee through consensus.
Two alternate chairmen, Professor Moses Tsenôngu and Dr Hyacinth Kyaagba presided at the event attended by dignitaries including President General, Mdzough u Tiv World Wide, Chief CP Iorbee Ihagh, retired, Professors James Tsaaior, Don Saa-Aôndo Iorngurum as well as Dr Joshua Kerekaa, Dr Francis Ayaga, and former interim President of the association, Solomon Iormem, JP.
The President General of Tiv Youth Organization, Comrade Vincent Kaior also led a delegation to the accasion.
Members of the inaugurated executive committee were Akwashi Uyegher, President, Iorhuna Apemeshiligh, Vice President, Aso Mbadam, Secretary, Terdue Tyokula, Treasurer, and John Upuu, Financial Secretary.
Others were Emmanuel Ajinge, Public Relations Officer, Tersoo Sombu, Auditor, Moses Nomsule, Social Secretary, Barrister Emmanuel Agbakor, Legal Adviser, Solomon Iornem, JP, and Gabon Akuhe, Ex-officio members, Iorchir Iange, patron, and Shagbakwase Bridget Shagba Apaji, matron.
The election was proceeded by cultural performances the previous evening which featured members of the association including the Nev twins, Mercy and Blessing, at the same venue.
