Umuchiyere, Amamba Autonomous Community, Ndundu, Uturu in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State has lost one of its most respected elders with the passing of Ezinna Sylvester Nwankwor Okeoma at 103. Untill his passing-on, he was the Ichie Agbaekperechi of the community.

Sir Pius Okeoma, speaking for the family, said his father died on 5th May, 2026, after a life spent farming and raising a disciplined family.

“My dad was a farmer and he had plantations all over the village. He serviced them until age caught up with him,” he recalled.

The late Ichie was known for promoting peace and unity within the Amamba Autonomous Community.

His son said the family inherited his commitment to honesty, law-abiding conduct, and peaceful coexistence with all men.

Plans are underway for a befitting burial on 23rd July, 2026, with the family seeking God’s provision and strength.

Sir Pius said the greatest tribute would be for descendants to live upright lives, just as their father did.

The community has been urged to celebrate a life that spanned a century and left behind a legacy of faith and integrity.
