The immediate past Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Rev. Dr. Frederick Ikyaan on Monday, 4th August, 2025 handed over affairs of the ministry to the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Nambativ Helen Zeramo with a charge on Directors of the ministry to continue to discharge their duties creditably.
Rev. Ikyaan commended the Directors and staff of the ministry for the various roles they played while he held forth as the Commissioner, saying he has done the little he can acknowledging that it was their collective roles that made his job possible.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Nambativ saluted the resilience of the former Commissioner, saying she believes he is only stepping aside, adding that she is sure he is coming back in matter of days. She described Rev Ikyaan as a humble man of God and prayed that God will bless him.
Speaker after speaker, including: the Director, Administration and Supply, Mr. Nic Joko, his counterpart in Secondary Education, Mr. Terseer Tange, that of Tertiary Education, Mrs. Dorcas Abaa, Education Support Services, Mrs. Saamo Sember, Finance and Accounts, Jerry Igbaikura, Legal Services, Mrs. Lucy Dondo among others all hailed the fatherly role the former Commissioner played while working with them.
They thanked God for his life, describing him as a humble, accessible, simple and calm personality who has ruled with so much wisdom which has endeared him to them, praying that he is not only retained but brought back to the ministry to continue the good work he is doing.
