The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a revision of the Nigerian Standard Passport fees, citing the need to uphold the quality and integrity of the document.
The new fees will take effect on September 1, 2025, according to a press release from ACI Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja on Thursday.
According to the NIS, the revised fees for passport applications made in Nigeria are as follows: 32-page passport with 5-year validity and N100,000; 64-page passport with 10-year validity: N200,000
However, the NIS has confirmed that passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora will remain unchanged. The fees for diaspora applications will continue to be: $150 for 32-page passport with 5-year validit and $230 for 64-page passport with 10-year validity
The NIS has reiterated its commitment to balancing quality service delivery with the need to ensure that passport services remain accessible to all Nigerians. The Service aims to maintain the highest standards of quality and integrity in the issuance of Nigerian passports.
The new fees will take effect on September 1, 2025. Applicants are advised to take note of the revised fees when applying for their passports.
