The Executive Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has paid glowing tribute to the late Mrs. Judith Mwuese Orshio, describing her as a woman of exceptional virtue whose life embodied faith, sacrifice, and service to humanity.

Governor Alia made this known in a funeral address delivered on his behalf by the Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy, Denis Ter Iyaghigba, during the burial ceremony held at Tombo-Mbalagh in Buruku local government area on Saturday, 28th March, 2026.

In the message, the Governor said the passing of the deceased was not only a moment of mourning but also a solemn celebration of a life well lived. He noted that the late Orshio was more than a mother and sister to her family, but a pillar of strength to her community and a source of wisdom and inspiration to many.

“She was a beacon of hope to all who encountered her, embodying the finest values of our land—respect, diligence, compassion, and devotion to God,” the Governor stated.

Alia further observed that the deceased nurtured her children with discipline and love, instilling virtues that have made them worthy ambassadors of her enduring legacy. According to him, her life stands as a reminder that true greatness is measured not by material wealth or fame, but by the positive impact one leaves on others.

The Governor expressed confidence that the deceased, who lived a life anchored in faith, now rests in eternal peace. He urged the bereaved family to draw strength from the cherished memories she left behind and the unity she fostered during her lifetime.

“To the Orshio family, I extend my deepest condolences. While no words can fill the vacuum created by her passing, I urge you to take solace in her enduring legacy of love and faith,” he said.

He assured the family that the Benue State Government shares in their grief, noting that the late Orshio contributed meaningfully to the moral fabric of society.

The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for divine comfort for the family, urging all present to emulate her humility, resilience, and steadfast faith.

“Adieu, Sister Judith. You have fought a good fight and finished your race. May your legacy live on,” the statement concluded.
