As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to take shape, the South East Elders and Youths Alliance for Tinubu (SEEYAT ’27) has advocated stronger engagement between the South-East and the Federal Government.
The group said improved cooperation between the region and the Federal Government could be beneficial to the Igbo nation.
SEEYAT ’27 made the submission while congratulating Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, over what it described as his efforts to strengthen the relationship between Anambra and the Federal Government.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the alliance said meaningful engagement with the government at the centre could strengthen the South-East’s position within the Nigerian federation.
The statement was signed by Hon. Engr. Humphrey C. Nsofor, National Coordinator; AIG (Mrs.) Augustina Ogbodo (Rtd.), National Secretary; and Hon. Sir Basil C. Ejidike, National Publicity Secretary and former APC State Chairman.
SEEYAT ’27 said it believed that constructive dialogue and partnership would create opportunities for the people of the region.
The alliance also expressed support for initiatives that encourage inclusion and greater participation of South-Easterners in national affairs.
It said it would work with relevant stakeholders towards strengthening relations between the region and the Federal Government while supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
