Network glitch threatens NYSC registration as graduates cry out in Abuja

By Ekunkonye Junior, Abuja

The ongoing National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) registration exercise has run into fresh challenges as graduates in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria struggle to access the registration portal because of network-related difficulties.

Our correspondent gathered that several prospective corps members have been unable to complete their registration despite repeated attempts to log on to the NYSC portal.

Some of the graduates who spoke to our reporter described the experience as frustrating and disappointing, particularly as the registration deadline is reportedly fixed for September 13, 2026.

They said the portal either failed to open or became inaccessible during attempts to register, making it difficult for them to complete the required process before the deadline.

One of the major concerns expressed by the affected graduates was that they could lose the opportunity to register for the exercise, not because they were unwilling to participate, but because of technical and network difficulties.

The graduates therefore appealed to the authorities to intervene immediately, stressing that the registration deadline should be reviewed if the network problems persist.

They also urged the NYSC to consider an extension of the exercise to enable those who have been unable to access the portal to register once normal connectivity is restored.

Efforts by our reporter to obtain the official position of the NYSC on the complaints were unsuccessful as of press time.
